The GRICE PIPE REPLACEMENT TOOL is a one-piece casting made of 440 Stainless Steel. The cable is 3/8" aircraft rated at 14,000 PSI.
Currently over 5,000 Water Utilities across the U.S and Canada are using the Grice Replacement Tool. Detroit, Michigan's Water Dept. As a service to our customers, we make an Aircraft quality cable available to order. Each cable can withstand 14,000 pounds on a straight pull. Each spool of cable is tested by the manufacturer prior to being sized into 50', 75', and 100' lengths. However, each angle or bend that occurs can decrease that rate substantially. These cables are not guaranteed against breakage. As a reminder, we caution against bending the cable more than 45 degrees or severe jerking of the cable and cable grip. A steady, powerful pull is recommended. We also make available a Cable Grip. This grip is well proven to be adequate and dependable for most service replacements. Additionally, the cable grip is not guaranteed against breakage.
